Property values are falling faster than the houses themselves . I’m undecided whether that is a good thing or not...

Back before the ‘08 recession and housing crash, home owners complained to me
endlessly about rising property taxes and property assessments. My response was, well, it’s better going up then going down. Now, I rarely, if ever, have anyone complaining to me about their rising property values. Of course, it’s taken about this long for some areas of NW Ohio/SE Michigan
to get back where they were in ‘05-’06. Some areas aren’t there yet, and may never be.

Not sure, I think it may be a situation where nature reclaims what’s left.

But I’d buy if I knew there would be no financial
consequence.

To be honest, I think nobody knows how this will play out.
Sucks for the homeowners, no insurance would cover this. They’re out at least a mil AND until now have had to pay property tax on their homes
